Sallaum Lines celebrated a milestone in its fleet expansion program with the simultaneous delivery of the MV Ocean Express and the MV Ocean Navigator, two new PCTCs joining the company's growing Ocean Class fleet.
The ceremony, attended by the founder, chairman, and executives of Sallaum Lines, represents the most significant single-day milestone in the Ocean Class program to date and underscores the company's continued investment in modern tonnage, cargo flexibility, and low-emission operations across its global network.
Built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) and registered under the Cypriot flag, both vessels offer a cargo capacity of 7400 CEU across 13 decks. With maximum heights and widths of 5.4 meters and 13.5 meters respectively, the vessels are designed to transport a wide range of cargo, including passenger vehicles, heavy commercial trucks, high-clearance SUVs, rolling machinery, and oversized project cargo.
The LNG fuel storage capacity has been built to Ocean Class standard, allowing for greater operational autonomy and improved environmental performance on long-distance voyages.
"The addition of two extra vessels to our fleet on the same day is a milestone we are immensely proud of. The Ocean Class vessels reflect the resilience, vision, and values that have guided Sallaum Lines since its inception. They are a testament to our conviction in building a company prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the future," stated Ibrahim Sallaum, founder of Sallaum Lines.
Powered by dual-fuel LNG propulsion systems, both vessels incorporate energy efficiency technologies that exceed current IMO regulatory requirements. The vessels achieve significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants, while providing the fuel flexibility and operational reliability necessary for modern deep-sea shipping. This delivery also underscores the strategic importance of China within Sallaum Lines' global network, both as a strategic export market and a long-term strategic partner in shipbuilding.
In addition to expanding fleet capacity, these vessels strengthen Sallaum Lines' ability to adapt to evolving global trade patterns. In recent years, demand for the company's services has frequently outstripped available capacity, limiting its ability to provide customers with the level of service, flexibility, and consistency they expect. The delivery of the MV Ocean Express and MV Ocean Navigator addresses this challenge, improving service reliability and reinforcing Sallaum Lines' commitment to its customers.
In 2026, Sallaum Lines actively supported Chinese exports with eight voyages from the Far East to Europe, reflecting the growing demand for reliable RoRo capacity in this corridor. Building on this momentum, we plan to launch a dedicated China-Europe service in 2027. These vessels provide the capacity, flexibility, and operational efficiency needed to support our customers' growth, while advancing our long-term sustainability goals.
"The delivery of these vessels reinforces our confidence in the long-term potential of the China-Europe trade corridor and our commitment to investing in the services and infrastructure needed to support our customers as global trade continues to evolve," added Sami Sallaum, chairman of Sallaum Lines.
Along with the MV Ocean Breeze, the MV Ocean Explorer, and the MV Ocean Legacy, the addition of the MV Ocean Express and the MV Ocean Navigator further strengthens Sallaum Lines' Ocean Class fleet, a new generation of eco-efficient pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) designed with optimized hulls, advanced automation systems, and adaptable cargo configurations that maximize operational efficiency and service reliability on global trade routes.
The vessels will enter commercial service immediately after delivery and will support Sallaum Lines' growing global RoRo network, serving customers in the automotive, commercial vehicle, heavy machinery, and project cargo sectors on major international trade routes.
