The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through the General Directorate of Transport Programs and Projects, announces the start of the execution of works corresponding to Stage 3B of the North Dock Callao Multipurpose Terminal, managed by APM Terminals Callao S.A., a project that will strengthen port infrastructure and improve the country's logistical competitiveness.
This new stage involves an investment of USD 350.3 million and will directly and indirectly benefit over 10.4 million people by increasing the terminal's operational capacity and optimizing the movement of cargo entering and leaving Peru.
The works include the construction and modernization of docks, dredging to allow the entry of larger vessels, the expansion of areas for container handling, and the incorporation of modern Super Post-Panamax gantry cranes and specialized equipment for port operations.
Additionally, adjustments will be made to the terminal accesses, and existing infrastructure will be renewed, allowing for more agile, secure, and efficient operations for vessel handling and merchandise dispatch.
With these interventions, the North Dock Callao Multipurpose Terminal will increase its capacity to handle growing foreign trade, reduce vessel turnaround times, and optimize logistical processes, strengthening the competitiveness of the national port system.
The MTC continues to promote the development of strategic infrastructure through public-private partnerships, fostering investments that contribute to economic growth, job creation, and the consolidation of Callao as the country's main logistical and port hub.
