To preserve consumer health, the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) seized 200 kilograms of seafood that was being transported in violation of current sanitary regulations in the province of Entre Ríos.
During the procedure, carried out at the control post located on National Route Nº 127, at kilometer 141, in the town of Sauce de Luna, Federal department, agents from the Entre Ríos Regional Center of the Agency inspected a pick-up truck traveling from the Buenos Aires town of Hurlingham to Sauce de Luna, with a cargo of 44 kilograms of shellfish and 156 kilograms of sea fish, finding that they lacked the corresponding sanitary transit permit as well as labels that accredited the origin of the products and their production and expiration dates, fundamental data to guarantee traceability and safeguard consumer health.

Given the lack of knowledge regarding the origin of the cargo and the absence of sanitary documentation guaranteeing that its production, handling, conservation, and transport were carried out under the hygiene and safety conditions required by current regulations, SENASA determined the seizure and total denaturalization of the merchandise.
With this type of operation, SENASA reaffirms its commitment to the safety of food that reaches consumers' tables throughout the country.
