The National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (SENASA) participated in the II Expo Rioja Futura, where it had an institutional stand from which it advised visitors and explained the roles of its agents in the animal, plant, and food production chain.
The event, organized by the Provincial Secretariat of Science, took place at the “Castro Barros” Cultural Center in the capital of La Rioja, where SENASA's Plant Protection, Animal Health, and Agri-Food Safety and Quality teams in La Rioja explained the official programs and the sanitary tasks they carry out.
In this regard, information was highlighted and provided to producers, high school students, and the general public on actions of epidemiological surveillance, sampling, and sanitation in livestock establishments in the province; monitoring and inspection in grape productions, mainly for the prevention of pests affecting this crop such as Lobesia botrana; and on control and inspection tasks in slaughterhouses and food processing establishments.
The institutional stand featured exhibition audiovisual material, brochures, and work tools that the agents of the national sanitary organization use in their daily work, proving to be an experience of great interest to young people.
The Exhibition aimed to link strategic areas for the development of science, technology, education, and production, creating a meeting space between those who produce knowledge, those who train professionals, and the sectors that transform that knowledge into solutions, services, and productive development.
In this context, experiences and projects from the productive sector, universities, and technical-scientific organizations were presented, with the aim of fostering new connections and generating cooperation opportunities.
