Less bureaucracy, more safety: Food traceability strengthened, consumer confidence guaranteed

In the framework of its modernization and trade promotion plan, the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) reaffirms its commitment to food quality and consumer protection through agile mechanisms that guarantee safety without hindering productive development. Transparency in the origin of each product and the simplification of procedures are the pillars for national production to compete on equal terms in the most demanding markets in the world.

During a preventive operation on National Route 22, in the town of Choele Choel, personnel from the Patagonian Zoophytosanitary Barrier detected the transport of 450 dozen fresh eggs that did not have the corresponding origin accreditations or traceability labeling. As they did not have the minimum quality guarantees to ensure their consumption, direct action was taken to protect agri-food health and safeguard the well-being of the population.

This type of preventive intervention seeks to level the playing field for producers who are committed to excellence and legality. Origin identification and correct certification are essential tools that open business opportunities, increase the added value of Argentine products, and sustain the dynamism of Argentine exports in a competitive global context.
