Authorities from the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the National Ministry of Economy presented to the top leaders of the Liaison Table a set of actions being carried out by the National Government in coordination with the provinces and municipalities to update the Prevention Plan and address the El Niño phenomenon.
Operational coordination helps optimize resource use, expedite response times, and ensure joint action in the face of adverse events.
In this regard, the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE) presented the guidelines for the ENOS 2026/2027 Federal Coordination Plan, which seeks to strengthen articulation between the Nation, provinces, and municipalities to confront emergencies related to increased rainfall in the Plata Basin provinces.
Meetings have been held in different provinces to analyze climatic and hydrological forecasts, evaluate potential impact scenarios, and advance in the planning and coordination of capacities in the face of possible impacts associated with the phenomenon.
Meanwhile, the National Meteorological Service, in conjunction with INTA and the National Directorate of Agricultural Risk and Emergency, offered an updated overview of the climatic forecast, and SENASA also presented preventive measures against a possible extreme impact.
It is worth noting that a comprehensive website is already operational and accessible from the Secretariat's portal, where the Coordination Plan and all information regarding El Niño can be found: weekly meteorological monitoring reports, technical recommendations for producers, status of water reserves, and the potential impact on crops.
