The Argentine Naval Prefecture conducted a large-scale operation that included multiple raids in the provinces of Entre Ríos and Misiones, as a result of an investigation carried out within the framework of a case for alleged infringement of the Customs Code law.
The procedures were carried out by Force personnel in different homes in the cities of Concordia and Posadas, by order of the Federal Court of Concordia, headed by Federal Judge Analía Ramponi, with the intervention of the Criminal and Correctional Secretariat, headed by Dr. Alan Bergdolt.
As a result of the searches, the national Maritime Authority seized a significant quantity of foreign-origin merchandise, including 6,410 cartons of cigarettes, 8,550 vaping devices and 865 refills, as well as clothing, tires, perfumes, cosmetic products, agrochemicals, insecticides, veterinary articles, and other products.
Likewise, during the procedures, cell phones, computers, storage devices, and other electronic items of interest to the investigation were seized. A pistol with ammunition was also found in one of the properties.
In addition, significant sums of money in national and foreign currency were seized, including Argentine pesos, US dollars, Uruguayan pesos, Brazilian reals, and Paraguayan guaranies.
Within the framework of the deployment, and based on one of the procedures, a new raid was ordered on an adjacent property in the Entre Ríos town of Villa Zorraquín. There, cannabis sativa plants were found, also leading to a case for drug trafficking.
The total value of the seized items during the operation exceeds 358 million pesos.
By order of the intervening Justice, the items were seized and the identified individuals were notified of the case, remaining subject to the investigation.
