The ceremony took place at the Parade Ground of the Coast Guard Group, headquarters of the Directorate of Operations and Citizen Protection, located in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. It was presided over by the National Naval Prefect, Prefecto General Guillermo José Giménez Pérez, accompanied by the National Naval Sub-Prefect, Prefecto General Alejandro Paulo Annichini.
Also present were members of the Force's General Staff; the president of the Officers' Circle, Prefecto General (RS) Rogelio Gustavo Pellegrino; the Institution's General Chief Petty Officer, Ayudante Mayor Roberto Marcelino Ortiz; active and retired senior personnel; subordinate personnel in charge of various dependencies; members of the Malvinas War Veterans (VGM) Corps; delegates from circles and mutual associations linked to the national Maritime Authority, and family members of those honored.
After the National Anthem was performed by the Music Band, a minute of silence was observed in memory of personnel fallen in the line of duty. Afterwards, the Force's Senior Chaplain, Presbyter Diego Julio Tibaldo, officiated a religious invocation and blessed the sabers, diplomas, and recognitions.
Next, Ayudante Mayor Ortiz addressed those present: "Today we share events of special significance for the Institution, united by the pride of belonging to a Force that founded its pillars on honor, loyalty, and vocation of service. For a non-commissioned officer, the saber represents recognition of an entire career. It is a symbol of command that reflects the tradition and glory of the Prefectura Naval Argentina, and through it, every Ayudante Mayor knows that they have earned the responsibility and honor of their rank. Today, the Prefectura thanks them for their service and also entrusts them with the task of transmitting what they have learned to those who follow."
Regarding female personnel, he added: "Their incorporation opened new opportunities, which were sustained with loyalty, commitment, effort, and dedication, values that today are part of our identity. A force grows when it values the contribution of all its members. To the first members, our respect: their work is part of our present and a value for our future."
Subsequently, it was time for the presentation of sabers, a symbol of command that embodies institutional tradition and reminds each Ayudante Mayor of the responsibility and honor that comes with their rank. The National Naval Prefect and the National Naval Sub-Prefect, along with the General Chief Petty Officer, presented them to Ayudantes Mayores Sergio Esteban Cogón, who was promoted in 2024, and Gabriel Horacio Martínez, who was promoted in 2025. The rest of the senior non-commissioned officers were distinguished with the presentation of their saber by Prefectos Mayores of the Institution.
Then it was the turn of the female personnel who joined the Institution on May 2 and December 15, 2000. The highest authorities of the Force recognized Principal Officer Micaela Geijo, who joined in that same cohort as a non-commissioned officer, and Second Assistants Natalia Barbieri and Lorena Analía Núñez. The other non-commissioned officers received the award from Ayudantes Mayores of the Prefectura Naval Argentina.
