The Prefectura Naval Argentina (Argentine Naval Prefecture) conducted a navigation and instruction day for students of the Yacht Master course from Club Universitario de Buenos Aires (CUBA), aboard the PNA YR-7 “Esperanza” yacht.
During the activity, held in the waters of the Río de la Plata, participants received knowledge about the use of rigging (ropes, cables, lines, and tackle) and winches, and practiced hoisting the Main and Genoa sails, as well as performing Spinnaker maneuvers.
Additionally, personnel from the national Maritime Authority explained basic navigation concepts and shared their knowledge and experience with the students. The participation of female personnel from the Force in the role of skipper at the helm of the vessel was also highlighted during the day.
As part of the encounter, the students learned about the history of the YR-7 “Esperanza”, its trajectory in international competitions, and its function as a training ship for the Prefecture.
After completing the planned activities, the vessel arrived at the Yacht Club Argentino, where the students disembarked, concluding a day aimed at complementing their training through practical navigation experience.
