The ceremony was presided over by the National Naval Prefect, General Prefect Guillermo José Giménez Pérez, accompanied by the National Naval Sub-Prefect, General Prefect Alejandro Paulo Annichini.
The event was attended by members of the Force's General Staff, heads of services, the General Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge along with the officers in charge, and all superior and subordinate personnel. Also present were representatives of security and police forces, authorities from circles, associations, foundations, and mutual societies linked to the Institution, and members of the Prefecture's Malvinas War Veterans Corps.
As part of the ceremony, the Bell of Honor was rung for the ex-combatants, led by General Prefect (Ret.) War Veteran Jorge Omar Etchetto. Afterwards, the Argentine National Anthem was sung, and a minute of silence was observed in homage to the Aviation Service comrades who fell in the line of duty.
During the ceremony, Principal Prefect Juan Manuel López highlighted the importance of the date and stated: “It is an honor for me to share this significant day, in which we commemorate the anniversary of the Aviation Service. The flight of our aircraft has been our vocation of service.”
He also recalled the role played by the Institution during the South Atlantic conflict: “The most significant event has been the participation in Malvinas. Today we pay a heartfelt tribute to the war veterans who honor us with their presence.”
Finally, he highlighted the work of those who are part of the Service: “I want to extend my recognition to the personnel from the different areas, for their professionalism, dedication, and constant effort.”
Afterwards, the National Naval Prefect presented the corresponding recognition for the designation of the Honorary Head of Service, General Prefect (Ret.) War Veteran Jorge Omar Etchetto. Recognition was also given to the first graduating classes of the CEPA's Aviator and Aeronautical Maintenance Mechanic Course, to personnel for their career and outstanding work in SAR operations, to graduates of extra-institutional courses taught by CEPA, and to War Veterans personnel.
The celebration concluded with the unveiling of commemorative plaques for the 80th anniversary of the Aviation Service.
