Brasília, 01/30/2026 - The National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ) held a presentation today (30) to deepen the use of data that strengthens regulation and decision-making in the sector. This was the Aquatic Information Seminar, which took place in the Agency's plenary in Brasília (DF), and was also broadcast on ANTAQ's YouTube channel.
The opening was made by the creator of the Seminar, the Superintendent of Waterway Studies and Projects, Eduardo Queiroz. Afterwards, Cristina Castro, Superintendent of ESG and Innovation, highlighted the importance of the panels for the Brazilian economic movement: “If we do not understand our data, nor how it is presented, we will not be able to tell stories. And the panels bring information according to the country's historical moment: looking at goods, for example, we can see what has grown. And the market monitors, in the panels, even the specificities of this movement.”
The Manager of Statistics and Performance Evaluation, Fernando Serra, was the one who, 11 years ago, brought the idea of the panels to optimize processes at the Agency. At the Seminar, Serra highlighted the relevance of this system: “Today, 60 countries monitor our data. The panels have significant global reach.” He concluded by showing a constant concern with the technological modernization of the panels: “It is important that the system is constantly evolving. We want to institute the use of artificial intelligence in the panels.”
The Superintendent of Authorizations, Renildo Barros, also participated in the Seminar, highlighting market autonomy: “With the panels, the market is autonomous, as the entire Agency's ecosystem is presented in them.” Aníbal Almeida, head of the Panels and Publications Division, demonstrated the system's functionalities in practice.
The Aquatic Information Seminar was recorded and is available on the ANTAQ channel on YouTube.
