The Minister of Ports and Airports, Tomé Franca, will visit the facilities of the Port of Santana, Amapá, this Friday (23) and sign the lease agreement for the MCP01 terminal.
Intended for the handling and storage of grains, such as soybeans and corn, the terminal will have an estimated investment of R$ 150.2 million over the 25-year contract. Improvements include the installation of conveyor belts and a new ship loader, as well as interventions on the piers and land infrastructure.
In the afternoon, the minister will participate, alongside the Governor of Paraíba, Lucas Ribeiro, in the signing of an addendum of R$ 6.7 million to Commitment Term No. 003/2026, at the Port of Cabedelo. The instrument is intended for dredging and rock removal works in the internal access channel and the turning basin. With the update, the total investment increases to R$ 71.15 million, of which R$ 44.45 million are federal funds and R$ 26.70 million correspond to the state counterpart.
The project plans to expand the diameter of the turning basin, the area used for vessel maneuvers, from 330 to 450 meters. The intervention will allow the port to receive ships up to 330 meters in length, including cruise ships.
