The delivery aims to strengthen national surveillance and control capabilities in the maritime domain.
U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, also announced that he will request an additional USD 45 million from his country's Congress to support security actions in Ecuador. These resources have not yet been approved and will depend on the corresponding legislative process.
The cooperation also includes USD 10 million allocated to strengthen actions against unregulated mining activities. The new equipment and resources will allow for the expansion of surveillance and control operations in the country's maritime spaces.
