2026-10-30. The board of directors of the Castellón Port Authority has approved a modification to the administrative concession held by Masol Iberia Biofuel S.L.U. in the south dock. This measure will allow the liquid berth, previously for exclusive private use, to be exceptionally opened for general use with the primary objective of increasing its operations, optimizing its performance, and maximizing the profitability of the port facilities.
Masol Iberia Biofuel has held an administrative concession since 2009 for port public domain assets for the construction and operation of a biodiesel plant and a private berth for fluids. With the approval of this concession change, the facility transitions to a more flexible model that enables other concessionaires and vessels to operate at said quay in exchange for the corresponding consideration, thereby increasing the port's competitiveness.
Within the framework of this agreement, the board has also approved the partial transfer of the use of the Masol berth to Sevitrade, a company interested in deploying its logistics and commercial activities in this space. Sevitrade will have exclusive use of part of the berth for several years for its operations, while the rest of the facility will remain under Masol's private ownership, although open for use by third parties.
This decision by the board aims to ensure maximum utilization of the port's public domain, reinforcing the efficiency of the south dock and boosting liquid bulk traffic.
The board of directors observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the train accident in Toledo and in solidarity with the families of the deceased.
