38 Cruises Scheduled in Dominican Ports for September

The Dominican Port Authority announced that it expects 38 cruise ship calls for September at ports and anchorages in the country. Among the month's notable arrivals is the Regal Princess, from Princess Cruises, with visits to Puerto Plata scheduled for September 14th and 28th, from 10 AM to 5 PM.

The Port of Taíno Bay received the cruise ship Celebrity Beyond, arriving from Miami, with 3,224 passengers and 1,444 crew members, as one of the first in September. The vessel was docked for seven hours and departed at 2:30 PM bound for Tortola.

The Executive Director of the Dominican Port Authority, Alejandro Campos, highlighted that one of the priorities of his administration is to consolidate the country as a Caribbean cruise hub, through strengthening terminals, attracting new lines, and greater community participation in the benefits of this activity.

"The Dominican Republic has shown that it has the potential to consolidate itself as a true Caribbean cruise hub," said Campos.

The September schedule includes operations by Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Celebrity, Virgin Voyages and Princess, with calls in Puerto Plata, La Romana and Cabo Rojo.

Among the vessels expected are Carnival Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, Norwegian Prima, MSC World America, Resilient Lady and Allure of the Seas.
