American Cruise Lines has christened its newest ship, American Ranger, on the Hudson River.
The 130–guest American Ranger is the company's fourth new Patriot Class ship and third new ship launched this year.
The ceremony was held on September 24 when the ship was docked at Historic Catskill Point in Catskill, New York. Inaugural guests joined company executives and crew members for a celebration on the top deck with a cookout and the ceremonial bottle smash.
Susan Renner, the company's longtime treasurer and board chair, served as the ship's godmother. She is also godmother to American Maverick, christened earlier this year in Newport, Rhode Island.
"We are so pleased to christen American Ranger with our guests and crew, surrounded by the Hudson River Valley's magnificent fall scenery," said Charles B. Robertson, president and CEO of American Cruise Lines. "Today, American Ranger assumes the mantle as the newest cruise ship in the country, but won't hold the title for long, as she will be quickly followed by three more new ships launching in 2027."
American Ranger offers several lounge areas, including a top deck lounge with a walking track, a chart room, a main restaurant, café, fitness center and a laundry room.
The vessel's inaugural nine-day Hudson River Fall Foliage itinerary began with an included hotel stay in New York City on September 18. The ship departed the city on September 19 and concluded the cruise in Albany on September 26.
The planned new ships for 2027 include American Mariner, American Navigator and American Anthem.
