(12:07 p.m. EDT) — Disney Cruise Line gave a sneak peek of its newest generation of ships set to launch in 2029 and 2030.
During the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in California, the company revealed a rendering of the new ships in an Instagram video, offering the first public look at their design.
Although D23 is the place for reveals, not much else new beyond the rendering was unveiled about Disney's new class. The social media post reintroduced details that had been previously shared by the cruise line.
The new class of vessels, which has yet to be named, will consist of three 105,000-ton ships.
According to Disney, the newbuilds will feature a lightweight design intended to improve energy efficiency, along with the cruise line's signature black and gold hull and two funnels.
The vessels, to be constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, will be larger than the 2,713-passenger Disney Wonder but smaller than the 4,000-passenger Disney Wish.
But before the new class of ships arrives, Disney Cruise Line will debut another Wish-class vessel: the Disney Believe.
The 140,000-ton Disney Believe is scheduled to enter service in 2027 and will be a sister ship to Disney Wish, which debuted in 2022, Disney Treasure, launched in 2024, and Disney Destiny, which entered service in 2025.
Disney Cruise Line first announced plans to launch a new class of smaller ships back in 2024, as part of its broader fleet expansion. Under the recently revised plans, the brand's fleet expansion will now be complete by 2030 instead of 2031.
The first look has already sparked excitement among cruise enthusiasts and Disney fans, who shared their reactions in the comments below the video.
On Instagram, many expressed excitement about the new vessel: "We cannot even wait!!!"
Others shared hopes for where the new ship would sail, including Europe, New York and Galveston.
One poster wrote: "Based in Europe? Please?"
Another said: "Please sail out of NY again" while a third fan added: "PLEASE give us a ship in Galveston FULL TIME!"
Fans also weighed in on the ship's design, with one commenter writing: "Please Art Deco and Art Nouveau designs again!"
