The Mein Schiff 7 recently sailed to the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard during a 17-night cruise to Northern Europe and the Arctic.
Sailing roundtrip from its homeport in Kiel, the TUI Cruises vessel docked in Longyearbyen, on the island of Spitsbergen, on August 3, 2026, for a 13-hour call.
In addition to visiting Svalbard, the itinerary also featured stops in Scandinavia and Iceland, such as Copenhagen in Denmark and Bergen in Norway.
Other highlights of the cruise included an extended visit to Honningsvag, which serves as a gateway to the North Cape.
Before returning to Kiel, the ship also sailed to Akureyri and Reykjavik, where it arrived for an overnight call on August 7, 2026.
One of the few large cruise ships sailing to the destination this summer, the Mein Schiff 7 is now scheduled to return to Svalbard in 2027.
The published deployment includes three cruises to the archipelago next year, with visits to Longyearbyen taking place between June and July.
Departing from Kiel, the vessel will sail to the destination as part of 14- to 17-night cruises that also visit other destinations in Norway.
Before returning to Svalbard and Northern Europe next summer, the ship is scheduled to offer winter cruises in the Canary Islands and the Western Mediterranean.
Taking place between October and April, the itineraries depart from Palma de Mallorca and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
One of the newest ships in TUI's fleet, the Mein Schiff 7 was built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland and entered service in 2024.
A sister ship to the Mein Schiff 1 and the Mein Schiff 2, the 2,900-passenger ship is highlighted by its sustainable technologies, including one of the industry's first methanol-ready propulsion systems.
In related news, TUI Cruises announced that its two newest vessels, the Mein Schiff Flow and the Mein Schiff Relax, are currently operating on renewable LNG.
