Norwegian Cruise Line launches 450+ voyages for Summer 2028 season

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has opened bookings for its Summer 2028 programme, with 450+ voyages scheduled across 20 ships and nearly 150 destinations in 51 countries. The deployment covers itineraries of 3 to 14 days from 25 homeports, including Miami, Seattle, Rome and London.

NCL is placing emphasis on time spent in port, with ships expected to spend ~80% of each voyage in destinations. Average port calls will exceed 10 hours, while the programme includes 175 overnight stays and late departures across 53 destinations, including Santorini, Livorno and Juneau.

Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, said the early opening of the programme was intended to give passengers a wider choice of destination-focused itineraries and accommodation, while allowing more time ashore during the cruise.

In the Bahamas, Norwegian Aqua will operate its first full summer season from Miami, offering 3- and 4-night round-trip voyages to Great Stirrup Cay. The line's private island is scheduled to feature the Great Tides Waterpark, with 19 waterslides among its attractions.

The Caribbean deployment will include 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami aboard Norwegian Luna, while Norwegian Prima will return to Galveston for 7-day Western Caribbean itineraries. Norwegian Luna will also operate a 10-day repositioning voyage from Miami to New York in May 2028, with calls at Aruba, Curaçao and San Juan.

Europe will see several changes to NCL's deployment. Norwegian Jewel will make its first calls in Morocco, including Casablanca and Agadir, while Norwegian Getaway will introduce Northern European sailings between Southampton and Reykjavik during the summer's midnight-sun period. The ship will later operate Baltic Sea itineraries.

The Mediterranean programme will include Norwegian Dawn making its first calls at Zadar in Croatia and Cagliari in Sardinia. Other ships will operate itineraries covering the Greek Isles, Mediterranean, British Isles and Baltic region, with the wider programme structured around longer stays and fewer days at sea.

NCL's Alaska deployment will run from April through October 2028, with 4 ships operating itineraries centred on glaciers, wildlife and coastal scenery. Three vessels will offer 7-day round trips from Seattle, while Norwegian Jade will operate between Vancouver and Whittier.

Bermuda will receive an expanded programme, including Norwegian Gem making its regional debut from Philadelphia, alongside departures from New York and Boston. The South Pacific deployment will be centred on Norwegian Spirit, with 11- to 13-day voyages linking Fiji, Samoa, the Cook Islands, French Polynesia and Hawaii.

The 2028 programme continues NCL's strategy of increasing destination time within its deployment. The company currently describes its fleet as comprising 20 ships, while its broader network reaches more than 450 destinations worldwide.

NCL is also promoting its Summer 2028 launch through an End of Summer Sale running through August 18th, 2026. The offer includes 50% off cruises and up to US$750 in onboard credit per stateroom on selected sailings, subject to the applicable conditions.
