Pearl Expeditions' 2028 itineraries take in the Kimberley, Arnhem Land, the Tiwi Islands, Torres Strait, the Great Barrier Reef, Raja Ampat, East Indonesia's Spice Islands, Borneo and Papua New Guinea.
The voyages range from seven to 11 days aboard the 30-passenger Paspaley Pearl, catering for a demand in small ship expeditions beyond established cruise routes.
In a move to cut transit time for travellers, there are expanded charter flights, including services from Cairns for Papua New Guinea and from Darwin for Raja Ampat voyages.
Charter flights for a new Raja Ampat itinerary between Darwin and Sorong will open up rarely visited Tanimbar and Kei Islands.
Great Barrier Reef departures will increase to three, with new itineraries highlighting Torres Strait Islander communities and culture.
There are three revamped Cairns/Cairns 10- and 11-night voyages to Papua New Guina, with an emphasis on World War II history.
Indonesia's "big three" wildlife encounters — orangutans, whale sharks and Komodo dragons — feature in a Borneo itinerary that includes a two-day stay in Indonesia's Tanjung Puting National Park, home of wild orangutans.
The Kimberley season features seven- to 10-day voyages with exclusive visits to Paspaley pearl farms and the option of flights in a Paspaley Mallard flying boat.
Pearl Expeditions Executive Chair Sarina Bratton said the 2028 calendar marks a step in the company's growth across Australia's remote north and the Indo-Pacific while staying true to its "small footprints" approach.
GM Mick Fogg said the collection's strength lies in the detail of each journey, from klotok riverboat trips through Tanjung Puting in search of orangutans to time spent with Torres Strait Islander communities and carved ancestral villages in the Tanimbars.
