Port Gruz, Dubrovnik (Croatia) is set to further strengthen its position as a Mediterranean homeport in 2026, with 461 cruise calls scheduled and an estimated 661,094 cruise passengers expected to visit the city during the year. The figures underline the continued importance of the Croatian destination within the regional cruise network while reflecting its emphasis on sustainable growth and destination management.
More than 60,000 passengers are expected to use the Port of Gruž for turnaround operations, embarking and disembarking on 14 ships operated by 10 international cruise lines. The expansion of home port activity represents a significant contribution to the local economy through increased demand for transport, accommodation and tourism-related services before and after cruises.
Marella Explorer 2, operated by Marella UK, will once again account for the largest share of homeport traffic, with 47,000+ turnaround passengers forecast during 2026. The vessel is followed by La Belle de l'Adriatique, expected to handle ~5,220 passengers, while Seabourn Quest is projected to welcome around 3,000 guests. The remainder of the schedule consists primarily of premium, luxury and boutique cruise vessels.
The continued presence of premium and luxury cruise companies reinforces Dubrovnik's position as a destination focused on delivering high-quality visitor experiences. In recent years, the Port of Dubrovnik has worked closely with the City of Dubrovnik to implement internationally recognised measures for sustainable cruise tourism, including limits on daily passenger numbers and coordinated berth management designed to balance cruise activity with the preservation of the historic destination.
The further development of home port operations strengthens Dubrovnik's role within the Mediterranean cruise market while supporting the destination's long-term strategy of combining quality tourism, balanced capacity growth and sustainable port operations.
