Luka Koper (Port of Koper), in Slovenia, announced a new milestone for its cruise segment when it received and serviced the Mein Schiff Flow, one of the latest vessels to join TUI Cruises' services, on its maiden call. With a length of 333 meters, it became the largest cruise ship to ever stop at that terminal.
Built in Monfalcone, the tourist vessel can accommodate approximately 4,000 passengers and 1,100 crew and spends the months of June and July making short trips through the Mediterranean and Adriatic, waters that bathe Koper.
As is tradition, the maiden call was celebrated with the exchange of commemorative plaques between representatives of the shipowner, the shipping agent, the municipality, and the port.
"Welcoming vessels of this scale further strengthens Koper's position as an increasingly important cruise destination in the Adriatic and highlights the Port of Koper's capacity to accommodate the latest generation of cruise ships," communicated Luka Koper.
A few days later, it was the turn of the Brilliance of the Seas, from Royal Caribbean International, which also made its first call at the Port of Koper.
