Holland America Hosts Professional Pickleball Competition 2027
(11:17 a.m. EDT) — Holland America Line will host a professional pickleball competition at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay in 2027, bringing professional players to the line's private island.
The Private Island Invitational, organized in collaboration with the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour and Major League Pickleball (MLP), will take place on March 13, 2027, during Nieuw Statendam's seven-day Eastern Caribbean: San Juan & St. Thomas cruise.
Described as the first-ever professional pickleball invitational held on a private island, the event comes as Holland America Line celebrates the 30th anniversary of RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.

"That's why bringing the first-ever professional pickleball invitational to RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay feels like a perfect fit, combining the excitement of one of the world's fastest-growing sports with the unmatched beauty of one of the Caribbean's most extraordinary islands in a way only Holland America can."
Leading up to the event, four Countdown Cruises will feature special onboard pickleball programming, with appearances by PPA players. Guests will have multiple opportunities to interact with the stars, including a coffee chat with a PPA pro, pickleball-themed trivia and onboard lessons. Additional details about the players on each cruise will be announced in the coming months.

Nov. 20, 2026 — Nine-day Southern Caribbean, Nieuw Amsterdam
Dec. 12, 2026 — Seven-day Western Caribbean: Greater Antilles and Mexico, Zuiderdam
Jan. 2, 2027 — Seven-day Eastern Caribbean: Amber Cove and Bahamas, Eurodam
Jan. 23, 2027 — Seven-day Eastern Caribbean: Amber Cove and Bahamas, Eurodam
