It took more than 90m gallons of water to flood the building dock overnight and float out Hero of the Seas at Meyer Turku.
Plus a ceremonial cannon firing for maritime tradition.
This fourth Icon-class ship for Royal Caribbean International is now at the outfitting pier where it will continue to take shape over the next year.
Hero of the Seas is scheduled to debut at PortMiami in August 2027.
Meyer Turku CEO Casimir Lindholm called Hero of the Seas "another important milestone in the long-standing partnership between Meyer Turku and Royal Caribbean.
"Building consecutive Icon-class ships has enabled continuous development of our expertise, production processes and energy-efficient shipbuilding solutions together with our partners and thousands of shipbuilding professionals involved in the project," he continued.
"We are proud to see Hero of the Seas move one step closer to delivery."
The ship's eight neighborhoods will be home to the most pools at sea, 28 dining venues, cooking classes for all ages, new family raft slides and the three-story Ultimate Family Treehouse. It will offer Royal Caribbean's newest supper club experience, Orleans Parish Supper Club, serving Cajun and Creole dishes inspired by the early 20th-century French Quarter.
Hero of the Seas will operate seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries, with every cruise visiting Perfect Day CocoCay. The western route includes Roatán, Cozumel and Costa Maya, while the eastern visits St. Maarten and St. Thomas.
