Silversea completes 2026 Alaska season with 30 voyages across 14 ports

Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has concluded its 2026 Alaska season, having completed 30 voyages aboard Silver Moon and Silver Whisper that immersed guests into the region between Vancouver, British Columbia and Seward, Alaska, from May 14 through September 3. Sailing in both directions through the Inside Passage, the two classic ships – among the smallest to sail the region – called at 14 destinations, from storied ports like Juneau and Skagway to lesser-known stops such as Metlakatla and Klawock. Guests cruised past Hubbard Glacier, kayaked Sitka Sound, and rode a private railcar to the summit of the White Pass, among other season highlights, showcasing the breadth of immersive experiences Silversea offers.

14 PORTS ALONG THE INSIDE PASSAGE

Across 30 sailings, Silver Moon and Silver Whisper operated seven-night voyages between Vancouver and Seward. Guests cruised past Hubbard Glacier and through Icy Bay, with port calls that included Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Valdez, Haines, Metlakatla, Klawock and Whittier. Wildlife sightings across the season included humpback whales, orcas, brown and black bears, bald eagles, Dall sheep and puffins. Ashore, several excursions enriched each itinerary, giving guests an even closer view of the region:

• A Private Railcar through the White Pass: In Skagway, guests aboard the White Pass & Yukon Route's premier luxury parlor car ascended from sea level to the summit with all-inclusive beverages, a regionally sourced appetizer, and a dedicated guide narrating the Klondike Gold Rush history along the way.
• Heli-flightseeing and Glacier Dog Sledding: In Juneau, a half-day excursion combined a panoramic helicopter flight over the Juneau Icefield with a landing at a snow-covered glacier dog-sled camp.
• Kayaking Sitka Sound: Guests explored the rugged coastline around Sitka Sound by kayak, passing distant islands and Mount Edgecumbe.
• ATV Route into Alaska's Backcountry: In Haines, an ATV excursion traced old logging roads through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve and surrounding wilderness.
• Misty Fjords by Floatplane: From Ketchikan, a floatplane excursion carried guests over Misty Fjords National Monument, tracing granite cliffs, waterfalls, and glacial lakes.

For those extending their journey beyond the ship, Land Programs by Silversea offered pre- and post-cruise access to Denali National Park and Alaska's rail routes, pairing seamlessly with embarkation and disembarkation at the pier in Seward.

A GATEWAY BUILT WITH THE COMMUNITY

Silversea's 2026 Alaska season sailed through Seward's newly opened Dale R. and Carol Ann Lindsey Alaska Railroad Terminal, developed by the Alaska Railroad, Royal Caribbean Group, The Seward Company, and Turnagain Marine Construction. The terminal, which opened in June 2026, includes a floating pier with shore power capability and direct access to the Alaska Railroad, supporting the cross-gulf itineraries that pair Silversea's Alaska voyages with pre- and post-cruise rail travel.

Royal Caribbean Group's investment in Seward extends beyond the terminal, through its Port Partners Small Business Accelerator program, delivering funding and mentorship as part of a broader commitment to the communities that host its ships. This year, the company awarded a $20,000 grant to Exit Glacier Greenhouses, a local horticulture operator aiming to expand Seward's access to fresh produce.

SAILING TO THE LAST FRONTIER IN 2027

Silversea looks ahead to the 2027 Alaska season, with 29 voyages aboard Silver Moon and Silver Whisper, running from May 27 through early September. Several 2027 sailings will add scenic cruising through Tracy Arm and Sawyer Glacier, alongside returning calls at Hubbard Glacier and Icy Bay. Highlight shore excursions for the season include a Taku Lodge salmon feast paired with five-glacier flightseeing in Juneau, a sportfishing excursion in Ketchikan, and river rafting through Valdez's Keystone Canyon.

• SEWARD (ANCHORAGE) TO VANCOUVER – June 3 - June 10, 2027: This 7-night Alaska voyage on Silver Moon will take guests through the Inside Passage, tracing a scenic route from Seward to Vancouver. Guests will experience glacier carved landscapes and wildlife rich waters, with calls at iconic ports such as Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway, alongside opportunities to cruise past spectacular ice formations including Hubbard Glacier. The journey highlights Alaska's rugged beauty and cultural heritage before concluding in Vancouver.
• VANCOUVER TO SEWARD (ANCHORAGE) – August 19 - August 26, 2027: This immersive sailing traces the Inside Passage from Vancouver to Seward, showcasing the region's dramatic landscapes and wildlife rich coastlines. Guests on Silver Moon will cruise past towering glaciers and fjords while calling in iconic ports such as Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Sitka, alongside quieter destinations that offer a deeper connection to Alaska's natural beauty and cultural heritage. Highlights include glacier viewing in areas such as Hubbard Glacier and Tracy Arm, before concluding in Seward, a gateway to Alaska's rugged interior.
