The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement condemning the attacks, labelling them as "acts of piracy" by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The UKMTO also reported that two tankers were hit by UAVs while making outbound transits via the Strait of Hormuz.
Maritime security firm Vanguard have identified the vessels as the Navig8 Messi and the Tarif. The Navig8 Messi is owned by Navig8, whose majority stake is held by ADNOC L&S, and the Tarif is directly owned by ADNOC L&S.
The vessels reportedly sustained only minor damage from the UAV attacks and continued sailing under their own power. All crew members of both vessels were uninjured and no pollution was reported.
