A seafarer died in an attack on the rescue vessel Ural after being rescued from an earlier attack on his original vessel, the Necibe. Eight others were injured in the attack on the Ural.

According to Turkish local news media, the general cargo vessel Necibe, which was about to load around 20,000 tons of wheat at the Port of Tuapse was attacked by drones on 18 August. All 18 crew members were evacuated with no injuries to the Ro-Ro cargo vessel Ural.
The Ural was sailing in the same area when it was attacked by drones, on 21 August. In the attack one of the seafarers serving as the cook rescued from Necibe was gravely injured and later died after medical aid could not reach him in time. Eight more people were injured in this attack.
The Ural arrived in Samsun, Turkey, on 22 August. The sailor's remains were handed over, and the injured were taken to hospitals.
