Saudi Arabian shipping company Bahri has reported that two seafarers have lost their lives in a strike on one of its vessels, the Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) Sidr.

The attack caused the deaths of two Filipino seafarers. Saudi authorities have attributed the attack to Iran; however, Bahri itself did not publicly identify the weapon or the perpetrator.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMOT) also reported an attack on tanker on 31 August in the Strait of Hormuz. UKMTO without disclosing the name of the tanker stated the vessel was involved in a security incident resulting in two casualties. There is no report of environmental impact at this time.
Sidr is a Saudi Arabia-flagged crude oil tanker that measures 336 meters in length and 60 meters in width.
