Families of Dali Bridge Collapse Victims Reach Settlement Before June 1 Trial
Five families of the six workers killed when the containership Dali struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge in March 2024 announced settlements on Thursday, withdrawing from the civil trial set to begin Monday, June 1. Grace Ocean and Synergy Marine seek to limit liability to just over $40 million under the 1851 Limitation of Liability Act. The State of Maryland previously settled for a record $2.25 billion, while Brawner Builders and Baltimore Gas and Electric also reached agreements.
