HNH Energy reported obtaining the Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA) for its integrated green hydrogen and ammonia project in the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica, following the unanimous approval of the Environmental Assessment Commission (Coeva). This result is the fruit of the technical work developed during the evaluation process before the Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) of Magallanes, the regional authority in charge of its processing.
From the beginning of the process, the company chose to submit its entire value chain—wind farm, process plant, desalination plant, and port infrastructure—for environmental evaluation in a single Environmental Impact Study (EIA). This decision allowed the environmental authority to evaluate the project comprehensively, considering its interactions and cumulative effects together.
The environmental evaluation process lasted more than two years, within the framework of the company's presence in the territory for approximately four years. HNH Energy assured that it carried out continuous technical work and maintained a permanent willingness to dialogue with the authority and the community, aimed at responding to the observations and challenges raised during the process.
The company highlighted that obtaining the RCA constitutes an enabling milestone that provides greater certainty to move towards a new stage of the project. From now on, HNH Energy will continue working on obtaining the corresponding sectoral permits, along with the technical and commercial definitions necessary to continue advancing in its development.
