Effective Shipment Module operational in the Port of San Vicente for exports

Facilitating timely access to information on containers shipped at the Port of San Vicente, streamlining documentary processes associated with exports, and anticipating the request for an Exporter VAT refund for companies are some of the benefits of implementing the Effective Shipment module, through the integration between the Integrated Foreign Trade System (Sicex) and the Talcahuano Port Community System (TPCS). After a three-month trial period, this integration is operational for exports processed through Sicex and shipped at SVTI.

The tool was presented in a webinar attended by representatives from Sicex, Puertos de Talcahuano, San Vicente Terminal Internacional (SVTI), and the National Association of Customs Agents (Anagena).

TPCS is a platform that connects the different actors of the logistics-port community and allows information exchange between their systems. In this case, the integration allows information associated with containers actually shipped at SVTI to be transmitted to Sicex and made available to the actors involved in the export process.

"This integration allows for timely confirmation of the effective shipment, generating concrete benefits for the exporter, anticipating the legalization of the customs declaration and the request for an exporter VAT refund, and making quicker decisions when a cargo was not shipped. The work with Puertos de Talcahuano also allows us to continue advancing in the integration between Sicex and Port Community Systems, connecting processes and actors in the logistics and foreign trade ecosystem," explained Sicex Director, Bárbara Matamala.
