Representatives of the National Port Authority and the Regional Port Authority of Lambayeque inspected the proposed site for the port project.
As part of its work to coordinate and provide technical assistance to the country's port development initiatives, the National Port Authority (APN), an entity attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), carried out a technical visit to the land where the Regional Government of Lambayeque plans to develop the region's future port terminal.
The visit was part of the technical support that the APN provides to the Regional Government of Lambayeque, within the framework of its competencies, with the purpose of contributing to the adequate development of the management related to this important port infrastructure project.
During the visit, the characteristics of the area proposed for the future infrastructure were verified, considered a strategic initiative to strengthen maritime connectivity, logistical competitiveness, and the economic development of Lambayeque and the northern macro-region.
Representatives of the Regional Port Authority of Lambayeque and the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Lambayeque also participated in the visit, who agreed on the importance of maintaining close coordination between the institutions involved to promote the development of this infrastructure of regional interest.
Subsequently, the APN delegation participated in a working meeting headed by the regional vice-governor of Lambayeque. In this space, the APN technical team provided specialized assistance on the main technical, regulatory, and planning aspects required for the development of a port infrastructure of this magnitude, contributing to the strengthening of the actions being promoted by the Regional Government.
During the meeting, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to maintain permanent coordination, within the framework of their competencies, to promote the orderly and sustainable development of the project.
With these actions, the APN reiterates its commitment to continue providing technical assistance to the Regional Government of Lambayeque, contributing to the development of port infrastructure that strengthens logistical competitiveness, boosts foreign trade, and generates new opportunities for economic growth and development for the region and the north of the country.
