ASIPONA Inaugurates Bridge Over Santiago Stream in Manzanillo

With an approximate investment of 30 million pesos, the National Port System Administration of Manzanillo (ASIPONA) put the August 28th Bridge into service on the morning of this Saturday, August 29th, as an extension of the street of the same name, over the stream of the Santiago Delegation.

This project addresses the need of at least 30,000 inhabitants of that community, who for many years suffered from isolation and lack of communication during every rainy season.

The August 28th Bridge will also solve the problem of flooding in the neighborhoods bordering the stream, since, given the lack of a drainage system like the one that has been built as part of the auxiliary equipment of the crossing, the flow of water over nearby streets will be reduced, diverting it towards the central channel and leading it towards the sea.

At the inauguration ceremony, the Director General of ASIPONA, Admiral José Ignacio Moreno Díaz, was present, accompanied by personnel from various areas of the agency, and Jorge Padilla Castillo, Delegate of the State Government on the coast of Colima, representing Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva.
