DP World celebrated 20 years of operations in Peru alongside authorities, diplomatic representatives, business leaders, clients, collaborators, and strategic partners.
Over 20 years, DP World has consolidated a world-class operation in Callao and has supported the growth of key sectors for the Peruvian economy. The company has moved over 23 million containers and served more than 12,000 vessels, figures that reflect the evolution of an infrastructure designed to respond to the needs of international trade and facilitate Peru's connection with the main markets of the world.
This development has been accompanied by an investment of over US$1 billion in the country, which has allowed for capacity expansion, technology incorporation, and the reception of large-scale vessels. This effort has resulted in efficiencies that benefit both importers and exporters and strengthen Callao's position within the west coast of South America.
In these two decades, the operation has also supported the expansion of important Peruvian exporting sectors. Products such as blueberries, grapes, mangoes, and asparagus are part of a logistics chain that connects national production with international markets and demonstrates the role that port infrastructure plays in the growth of foreign trade and the country's competitiveness.
The celebration also served to project DP World's next steps in Peru. The company has presented an investment proposal exceeding US$1.3 billion aimed at expanding the capacity of its terminal and preparing it to meet greater demand in the coming years. The initiative contemplates continuing to develop infrastructure that will support the country's growth and strengthen its connectivity with global trade.
