Empresa Portuaria Chacabuco (Emporcha) has taken steps to improve its digital transformation, institutional probity indices, and territorial engagement through a series of investments that, according to the state-owned company, were made possible after a positive financial year in 2025.
In terms of digitalization, the state-owned port company in the Aysén Region of General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo advanced its real-time multi-port shipping planning. This platform was designed under the most demanding standards of current software engineering, using state-of-the-art technologies such as .NET 10 and Microsoft SQL Server.
The tool operates in a "Multi-port" format, integrating and segregating critical information from different terminals in the region in a unified manner. After a successful initial phase in Puerto Cisnes, the system is now fully operational in the facilities of Melinka and Puerto Aguirre, allowing shipping agencies to register the arrival of their vessels directly in the digital environment.
This innovation, Emporcha highlighted, optimizes the assignment of berths and docks, automatically generates official plans in PDF format for the logistics ecosystem, and ensures the integrity and total availability of data (licenses, berths, containers, and waiting times) within the company's internal network.
Along with advances in port efficiency, public probity and good corporate practices have been consolidated as pillars of the state-owned company's governance. In a national ceremony, Emporcha was distinguished with the Organizational Ethics and Integrity award granted by the Generación Empresarial Foundation (FGE), after being evaluated using the Integrity Barometer tool.
This award places the port company at the forefront of compliance and transparency in the public sector. The seal acts as a crucial trust asset for clients and stakeholders in the southern macro-zone, demonstrating that port expansion is executed under strict guidelines of excellence and probity.
In terms of engagement with the community and regional industry players, Emporcha highlighted the maturity of its Puerto Chacabuco Logistics Community (founded in 2019). This is a public-private space that began its work cycle by aligning infrastructure requirements with the needs of key industries in the area, such as the energy sector (Esmax) and the salmon export engine (Salmon Council, Mowi, AquaChile, Friosur).
Under the leadership of the state-owned company, this guild governance has managed to balance high efficiency at the docks with an active citizen engagement policy. An example of this was the massive on-site event held at Site 1 of the International Passenger Terminal, where local schools and higher education institutions interacted with an informative fair of public and private services (such as Customs and stevedoring companies) as part of the reception of a historic caravan of antique cars.
This deployment is complemented by support actions in remote locations, such as the logistical support provided at the Puerto Aguirre Connectivity Ramp to facilitate the nautical kayak and diving event in Huichas Islands, promoting sustainable tourism and sports on the Aysén coast.
