Minister José Tangherlini met with Deputy Auristela Obando to discuss the port agenda for Callao and rural telecommunications connectivity.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) addressed investment proposals for the port terminals of Callao during a meeting between Minister José Tangherlini Casal and Deputy Auristela Obando.
The minister reported on the ongoing addenda and the proposals from the operators of the Port of Callao. He explained that the South Pier proposal includes a foreport for trucks entering the terminal and noted that this infrastructure should be complemented with roads to improve traffic.
He also indicated that the MTC is working with the National Port Authority (APN) to have the master plan approved by mid-November and to advance with the addenda.
Telecommunications connectivity in rural areas was another topic discussed during the meeting. At another point, Obando expressed her willingness to collaborate from the Congressional State Modernization Commission in the review of administrative procedures, based on the needs identified by the Executive.
During the meeting, a future meeting was also proposed, through the parliamentary coordination of the MTC, to follow up on the topics discussed.
