The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS), through the National Superintendence of State Assets (SBN), approved the gratuitous transfer of 71,346.74 m² of state land to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) in order to enable the modernization of the Chimbote International Port Terminal in the Áncash region.
This transfer will allow the MTC to have physically and legally cleared land to advance in the execution of works that will strengthen the port's operational capacity, facilitate exports, and contribute to boosting the region's economy.
The transferred properties are located in the district of Chimbote, province of Santa. The measure was formalized by Resolution N.º 2184-2026/SBN-DGPE-SDDI, within the framework of Legislative Decree N.º 1192 and Law N.º 30781, which declares the modernization of this port terminal to be of national interest and public necessity.
To finalize the transfer, the SBN carried out a technical and legal evaluation that allowed resolving incidents of land superposition in the coastal area. Likewise, beach and aquatic domain areas were excluded, guaranteeing environmental protection and the rights of third parties.
With this action, the Ministry of Housing stated that it reaffirms its commitment to promoting efficient management of state land, facilitating the execution of strategic infrastructure projects that promote investment, generate opportunities, and contribute to the development of the regions.
