Skarv Shipping Solutions Delivers Peak Skarv 3 and Begins Construction of Ammonia-Powered Vessel

Skarv Shipping Solutions celebrated a doubly special day by receiving one ship and cutting steel for another.

Captain Alejandro T. Montenegro hoisted the Norwegian flag on the Peak Skarv 3, marking the delivery of the third vessel in the fleet. The ship loaded its first shipment in China before its maiden voyage to Europe on Monday, August 17.

In parallel, Senior Project Manager Ragnhild Farstad Høvik cut the first steel for hull 247, the ammonia-powered vessel that will transport Norwegian timber for the Viken AT market starting in 2027, and the first ship that Skarv Shipping Solutions is building to run on ammonia from the day it is delivered.

"Today is a proud day. Three ships are now in the water, offering our customers offshore capacity with much lower emissions, and hull 247 will run on ammonia from day one. That's what we set out to build," said Skarv Shipping Solutions CEO Jan Øivind Svardal.
