Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) announced the completion of the integration of the six MOL Group ship management companies into MOL Global Ship Management Pte. Ltd. (MOLGSM). With this integration, MOLGSM will oversee the unified management of more than 200 vessels.
MOL will accelerate the implementation of safety measures across all vessel types, promote a unified safety culture, facilitate knowledge sharing, and foster globally capable talent by integrating the group's six ship management companies – previously organized by vessel type – into MOLGSM.
The merger will also centralize safety and quality data and information – previously dispersed across various locations – at a group level and enhance specialized capabilities throughout the organization to respond to changes in the business environment, including geopolitical risks and increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
Furthermore, MOLGSM will work to standardize and optimize operations using technologies such as AI and data analytics to enable fast and advanced decision-making, while ensuring the safe implementation of new initiatives, including alternative fuel vessels and other emerging technologies.
The six companies consolidated under MOLGSM are MOL LNG Ship Management (Singapore, Hong Kong, India), MOL Ship Management (Singapore), MOL Tankship Management (Singapore), MOL LNG Transport (Japan), MOL Ship Management (Japan), and MOL LNG Transport (United Kingdom).
