Shandong Port Group's (SPG) Bohaiwan Port has launched a new break-bulk shipping route to the Americas, expanding its international network and creating a new logistics link between inland businesses and overseas markets.
The service was inaugurated with the departure of the Yan Cheng from Weifang Port Area, carrying 15,000 metric tons of break-bulk cargo bound for Mexico.

The inaugural shipment, sourced from outside Shandong province, marks a step forward in the port's efforts to attract cargo from a broader market and extend its logistics services beyond its traditional hinterland.
To support the new route, Bohaiwan Port developed an integrated transport solution combining rail, road, and sea freight. The arrangement lets cargo move seamlessly from inland production areas to international shipping routes, helping businesses streamline logistics and cut transportation costs.
The port also coordinated closely across its operational teams to ensure the vessel's timely departure. By improving rail cargo handling, reducing storage delays, and optimizing loading procedures, it maintained efficient operations throughout the shipment process.
The new service strengthens Bohaiwan Port's break-bulk shipping capabilities and offers businesses a more convenient and cost-effective gateway to markets in the Americas.
