Maersk Delivery Delays Due to Manzanillo-Guadalajara Corridor Remodeling

The shipping company Maersk reported delays in the delivery of containerized cargo in Mexico due to work on the Manzanillo-Guadalajara land corridor. Delays could reach up to 8 hours.

Through its website, the Danish company reported that "expansion and repair work continues on various sections of the corridor. Congestion is observed at the access points to the Port of Manzanillo, especially during peak hours."

Furthermore, they detailed that the most affected areas are: La Salada (Km 15-25), La Salada-Armería (Km 25-54), and Armería-Cuyutlán (Km 54-95).

"Possible delays in container dispatch, increased transit times, impact on delivery appointments, and adjustments in operational scheduling. As well as an increase in the time for returning empty containers due to terminal appointment assignments," the publication added.

Finally, it was indicated that, depending on traffic, delays could range between three and eight hours.
