President Pedro Castillo Terrones participated in the ceremony for the delivery of resources from the Invest Fund for Territorial Development (FIDT) for regional and local governments, totaling over S/ 310 million.
The measure aims to finance 121 public investment projects and co-finance 70, corresponding to a total of 163 beneficiary entities, 81% of which are in extreme poverty.
"We reiterate our support for the execution of works, and we will unblock those that are stalled as soon as possible to generate employment and, in this way, ensure they serve the population," the president stated at the ceremony.
In this context, he announced the allocation of S/ 500 million in the 2023 public sector budget law for the FIDT, which must be approved by the Congress of the Republic.
"In this regard, we urge Congress to approve the law that formalizes the creation of the fund for border development and border integration," he added.
Finally, he said that his government will maintain neutrality and impartiality in this year's Regional and Municipal Elections.
"In compliance with the constitution, my government will maintain neutrality and impartiality in the electoral process and commits to working hand in hand with the new authorities that the people elect," he emphasized.
Present at the ceremony were the Vice President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte; the representative of the Rural Municipalities of Peru (Remurpe), Flavio Mamani; the president of the Association of Municipalities of Peru, Marco Gasco; and the representative of the Regional Governments, Jefferson Gonzales.
