The Chancay megaport made its first export of 19.6 tons of Peruvian bananas destined for Shanghai, China. The cargo arrived on September 2 and passed the controls of Yangshan Customs for its entry into the Chinese market.
The operation was possible after China's authorization, in December 2025, for the entry of fresh bananas from Peru. The Chancay-Shanghai route allowed for a reduction in transport time from 35-40 days to approximately 23 days and a decrease in logistics costs by more than 20%.
The new connection expands commercial alternatives for producers and strengthens agricultural exchange between Peru and China. The shipment also represents an advance in the development of new export routes and in the competitiveness of agricultural trade.
