Cosco Shipping's Chancay Express (WSA5) route completed a direct shipment of 19.6 tons of fresh Peruvian bananas to Yangshan Port in Shanghai, China.
As the main exporter of this fruit from South America and a global supplier of organic bananas, Peru is successfully expanding its reach in this Asian country.
"Our dedicated direct service provides an efficient supply chain corridor for this trade," Cosco Shipping stated.
The route's transit is optimized. The 23-day direct service from Chancay to Shanghai is approximately 10 days faster than conventional ocean freight transport. This predictable schedule allows companies to efficiently organize orders, ripening, and sales schedules, significantly reducing long-distance transportation losses.
The service features advanced cold chain preservation. The vessels use smart reefers with integrated IoT and CA (controlled atmosphere) technology. Based on precise temperature control, it dynamically regulates oxygen, carbon dioxide, and ethylene concentrations to keep the fruit in a "latent preservation" state.
Full visibility is another advantage. Temperature, humidity, and gas parameters are fully visible and traceable throughout the journey, supported by real-time anomaly alerts to ensure cargo quality.
"By leveraging direct shipping routes and smart cold chain technologies, we continue to support efficient global agricultural trade," Cosco Shipping concluded.
