Peru's total annualized exports amounted to US$ 109,413 million by the second quarter of 2026, an increase of US$ 26,321 million compared to the second quarter of 2025, the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported today.
"As a percentage of GDP, these exports reached 29.1% by the second quarter of 2026, an increase of 2.5 percentage points compared to the same period in 2025," emphasized the issuing entity.
Likewise, it stated that in quarterly terms, exports amounted to US$ 27,279 million during the second quarter of 2026, representing a year-on-year expansion of US$ 7,106 million (35.2%).
"This greater year-on-year dynamism is mainly explained by the 39.2% increase in the export prices of traditional products, which was reinforced by a 5.4% growth in the shipped volumes of these same products," explained the BCRP.
It also indicated that the dynamism in shipments of traditional products was mainly supported by increased gold exports registered by the National Superintendence of Tax Administration (Sunat).
To a lesser extent, the increase in the exported volume of copper contributed, explained by a statistical base effect, resulting from anomalous waves that had limited shipments from important mining companies at the beginning of the second quarter of the previous year.
