MSC Certificate Obtained by Peru Will Open New International Markets for Fishing Companies
The acquisition of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Certificate by Perupez of Peru will open doors for other Peruvian fishing companies to access first-class international markets such as Japan, the United States, and European countries. According to Darío Alvitez, president of APPA, Peruvian eel exports will exceed 6 million dollars by the end of this year, reaching 20 million in the next five years. The warming of the Pacific Ocean waters will also favor the presence of bonito, tuna, flying fish, and mahi-mahi.
