Peru: 900 kilograms of cocaine alkaloid seized at Paita Port Terminal
Personnel from the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Drug Trafficking Crimes (Fetid), in coordination with Customs and the Peruvian Navy, seized more than 900 kilograms of cocaine alkaloid at the Paita Port Terminal. The discovery was made in a reefer container that came from Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, destined for Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala. 762 brick-type rectangular packages wrapped with beige adhesive tape were found. The Public Ministry ordered the confiscation of the substance and ordered further investigations to determine responsibilities and the origin of the illegal cargo.
