The National Port Authority (APN) approved the Master Plan for the Corío Port Terminal, located in Punta de Bombón, Arequipa. The document establishes the technical guidelines and stages for the development of this new port infrastructure.
The project involves an investment exceeding USD 800 million and will be developed in three stages as a multipurpose terminal. The infrastructure will have the capacity to handle general cargo, containers, and solid bulk, expanding the offerings of the Peruvian port system.
Corío aims to strengthen the country's logistical connectivity and position itself as a strategic hub for regional trade with Brazil, through its connection with the Southern Interoceanic Highway. Its development also seeks to attract investments, generate employment, and boost economic activity in its area of influence.
