Oil Tanker YM Jupiter Towed to Turkish Anchorage After Engine Failure
The Malta-flagged oil tanker YM Jupiter was towed to Canakkale Anchorage, Turkey on 28 June after suffering mechanical failure northeast of Psathoura, Greece. The 148-meter vessel carried 5,000 tonnes of petroleum products and all 17 Turkish crew members were reported safe with no pollution reported. The Port Authority of Alonissos subsequently imposed administrative sanctions on the vessel's captain for failing to promptly notify authorities of the mechanical failure.
