The Panama Canal secured the top position among communication teams with the best reputation in the country, as part of the Merco Empresas Panamá 2026 ranking. The classification of communication teams was based on the assessments of economic journalists.
Merco Empresas Panamá 2026 also ranked the Canal as the second company with the best corporate reputation in the country, an assessment based on the analysis of over 16,000 surveys, which included participation from 656 executives from large companies, 47 financial analysts, 51 economic journalists, 48 business professors, 45 NGOs, 46 unions, 46 consumer associations, and 1,845 consumers (Merco Society), in addition to 13,662 Merco Talent surveys.
This recognition highlights the Canal's purpose of clearly and timely informing about its management, results, and the projects it develops to ensure the sustainability of the interoceanic waterway and expand its contributions to the country. This work responds to the institutional responsibility of accountability to the public, facilitating the understanding of decisions, and maintaining an open relationship with different sectors of society.
This recognition continues the positioning achieved by the Canal in previous years. In 2023 and 2024, the Canal held the first place among the best-rated communication teams; in 2025, it was in third position. These results reflect a communicative capacity aimed at explaining the Canal's management and highlighting the work of those who make its operation possible.
In this way, the Panama Canal demonstrates its commitment to effective, transparent, and close communication, allowing the public to learn about the progress of its projects, understand their impact, and stay informed about the benefits that the interoceanic waterway generates for Panama.
